NextGen Player Template

NextGen Player Template wordpress plugin uses custom template to display gallery as a fancy player.
Plugin integrates the jQuery Plugin Galleryview from Jack Anderson (http://www.spaceforaname.com/galleryview/) with NextGEN Gallery using custom template.
To use it simply add shortcode [nggallery id=1 template=”player”]. You need to replace id value with your gallery id.

    Hi there.

    I’ve noticed there’s some kind of cap on the number of images used in each gallery as I’m getting 20 images only being displayed on the carousel. Is there any way to switch this cap off?

    Many thanks in advance

    Hello, help!Enable plug-ins, there

    First of all you need to handle this error:

    SyntaxError: syntax error
    $("document").ready(function() {

    If this wouldn’t help let me know.

    Was implementing this on a client website, and the gallery display was completely distorted. However, I found a solution to this, it all had to do with the CSS-reset I was using. It basically set the box-sizing to the CSS3 setting of border-box (i.e. it sets the padding inside the provided width).
    This plugin is well coded, but with the assumption of that box-sizing is always set to content-box (like browsers usually handle it).

    I hope this might help anyone else who might run into this problem

    Hi, great plugin! Thank you!

    I am looking for a way to display the overlay text outside of the image instead.
    Using CSS to hasn’t worked for me yet, it seems negative margin will only hide the text etc.
    See text here: http://www.macadamdesign.com/jonmacadam/landscapes/

    Could you please explain if there is a way in gallery-player.php I could simply move the text below the main image? (above thumbnails and below main image)

    Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Hi. I’m trying the latest version of your plugin and it doesn’t seem to work. When I check in my google chrome console, I see the following error:
    Uncaught SyntaxError: Unexpected token <

    Clicking on the link to the code, it take me to this line:
    $("document").ready(function() {

    Any ideas?

      So I took a look into this and it seems like paragraph tags are being added in the gallery-player.php file in the scripts. It seems like any extra spacing in the javascript in that file. I ended up just deleting any extra blank line breaks and it fixed the issue. Any idea why?

      You need to replace line 85 in file gallery-player.php with following:

      panel_width: (width - 10),
      panel_height: 400,

      you can replace 400 with your height (px).

    Hi, I’ve downloaded the NextGEN player template, and I’ve followed the installation guide. However, it doesn’t seem to work. The images are just displayed like regular without any tweaks/settings/plugin/template or whatsoever in the post. I can’t even click on the images to show up in e.g. lightbox mode or the way it’s supposed to do.
    What am I doing wrong?

    Another question, if I install the jetpack plugin, will your plugin still work?

      You are trying to load to many pictures at one time (it’s to much for your server).
      There are two solutions:
      - decrease number of images,
      - migrate to better server.

    Hi – great plugin addon for NextGen

    2 things:

    Can I set some of the plugin settings as parameters in the shortcode ?

    ie autoplay

    also, in the plugin settings, I cannot switch off autoplay – each time I uncheck it and update / save the settings the autoplay box is re-checked

    I need to turn it off

    thanks a lot

        I know this is probably not the ideal solution. But, the solution offered by the author of the plugin isn’t really a solution either. So, this is how I worked around the issues with the plugin not letting me turn off the autoplay feature.

        Go to the nextgen-player-template/view/gallery-player.php file in either your cPanel or in the WordPress plugin editor. About half way through this file you will find a line as follows:

        autoplay: getAutoplay() ? ‘true’ : ‘false’; ?>,

        This is one of the places where the plugin determines how you want the autoplay feature to be set. Change the ‘true’ to ‘false’ so that this line reads as follows:

        autoplay: getAutoplay() ? ‘false’ : ‘false’; ?>,

        Now, regardless of whether or not the box is checked in the template settings, the returned value will be false. This turns off the autoplay for all galleries.

    Hi Piotr,

    Your plugin is just awesome. My blog is running with a multisite installation of wordpress, and since a few days the last release of NextGen Gallery is stable for this kind of installation. Therefore I update it, the shortcode find the template, gallery exist, but no images are displayed on the gallery. You could have a quick look on http://www.aroundasphere.megavolts.ch/2013/08/23/dixence/ (bottom of the pages).

    I tried to reinstall NextGen Gallery, as well as the player template, without any improvement. Do you have any idea what I’m doign wrong ?

        I deactivate all plugin, and let only NextGen Gallery and Player activated. However, there is still no images displayed. Could the problem come from a multsite installation and the 2.0 version of Nextgen ? There was some issue with such installation with the first versions of Nextgen 2 ?

    I’ve never test it with multisite and Nextgen2. Maybe try it with those plugins but with different template.
